Founded in 1856 along the banks of the beautiful spring fed Llano River, this Texas Hill Country town is rich in history, natural beauty, abundant wildlife and is the perfect get-a-way anytime of the year. Llano is surrounded by spectacular rolling hills, covered with stunning granite outcroppings and live oak trees and of course the pristine Llano River provides opportunities for swimming, boating, kayaking and fishing. Built in 1893, the Llano Courthouse is the 39th oldest in Texas. Under the granite boulders on the west side of the structure is a time capsule to be opened in 2056, Llanoís Bi-centennial. Llano is listed in the "Natural Register of Historic Places" and celebrated itís Sesquicentennial in 2006.
